Beatrice Evelyn Hahn

Mrs. Beatrice Evelyn Hahn, 86, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2017 at Brookridge Nursing Care. She was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Rhode Island where she developed a love for the shore. Bea was an active member of Mt. Tabor Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and met her beloved husband, Fred Hahn. They were married in 2005 and he was by her side when she left this world.
Bea was preceded in death by two husbands; and a dear sister, Priscilla Irene (Reed) Wakeford of Illinois.
She leaves behind her husband Fred; her loving son Walter Whitman; grandson Steven Whitman; along with other grandchildren: Meredith, Kevin, Kelly Ann, Patrick; many great-grandchildren all from Rhode Island; and her adoring niece, Kathy Gillespie.
Bea was loved and will be missed by her second family as well which include: ""daughters"" Cindy Neininger of Winston-Salem and Judy Kline and husband Jim of Columbus, OH; other ""son"" Doug Hahn of Pooler, GA; grandchildren Hayley and Tyler Neininger, David and Mark Hahn, and Jeffrey Kline; and great-grandsons, Owen and Conner. We will miss her love of hugs, cats, food, and the beach. She had a great sense of humor, and we will never forget her laugh, especially at the movies. All those who encountered her were touched by her loving heart.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00am at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Key officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Tabor Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
