Baxter Keith Griffin

Baxter Keith Griffin, 60, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 18, 2016. He was born January 13, 1956 in Forsyth County. Mr. Griffin graduated from NC A&T University. He was currently employed with Winston-Salem State University. He previously worked for WXII, WAIR, and WAAA. He enjoyed golfing and snow skiing and was one of the founding members and president of the Triad Diamond Ski Club. Mr. Griffin was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served on the First Impressions Team. He was a loving husband, father, friend, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Preceding him in death was his father, Arcenure Griffin. Surviving are his spouse of 30 years, Venessa Griffin; daughter, Raven Griffin; son, Austin Griffin; mother, Barbara Griffin; sister, Sharon Doorasamy (Alan); two brothers, Mike Griffin and Craig Griffin; also surviving are several nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any State Employees Credit Union in honor of Baxter Griffin for his son, Austin Griffin's college fund.
