WINSTON-SALEM, NC-Mr. Barry Keith Bowden, 50, of Winston-Salem, by grace and through his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, entered through heaven's gates on Friday, April 10, 2015 to live forevermore in the presence of Almighty God, never again to face pain and suffering. He was born on July 6, 1964 to Jimmy Henry Bowden and Virginia Bullins Bowden. Barry faithfully served as the teacher of children's church at Samaritan Baptist Church for almost 20 years. He was a successful entrepreneur who ran his own landscaping business as his ""hobby"" for 13 years with his sons also working a full-time job, most recently at Harland Clarke in High Point. Barry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Tyre Walter McBride and several aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowden is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda McBride Bowden; two sons, Brian Keith Bowden and Brad Allen Bowden and wife, Rachel; mother-in-law, Reo Billings McBride; brother-in-law, Allen Tyre McBride; sister-in-law, Wilma McBride Branson and husband, Ricky, and their children and grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Also surviving is Tiffany Beeson Stimeling of High Point (married to Clay), who is cherished like a daughter and recently gave birth to Barry's first ""grandchild,"" Charles Wesley Stimeling. Funeral services for Mr. Bowden will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Samaritan Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel L. Smith, Sr. and Rev. Christopher L. Neighbours officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hnilica, Dr. Stieber, Dr. Paschold and their exceptional staffs at Novant Health Oncology Specialists, including nurses April and Paula; Dr. Sollenberger and Michelle; the 9th floor oncology staff at Forsyth Medical Center; Maggie, a nurse with Hospice for the exceptional care she provided to Barry while he was at home; and the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. The skilled and compassionate care given by all of these folks to Barry during his illness was sincerely appreciated by the family.
