Barbara Jean Clayton Yates

Mrs. Barbara Jean Clayton Yates, age 79 of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Yates was born in Forsyth County, June 6, 1936 to Gray Grover Clayton and Gertrude James Clayton. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 20 plus years of service and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Franklin Yates, one sister, Shirley Bennett and her son-in-law, Manly Winfrey. Mrs. Yates is survived by her daughter, Luann Winfrey of Winston-Salem. A son, Kenny (Tina) Yates of Winston-Salem, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother, John Clayton of Winston-Salem. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Yates will be held Wednesday morning, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Rev. Sidney Lanier. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at Hayworth- Miller Tuesday evening August 25th from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
