WRIGHT - WESTFIELD
Mrs. Barbara Lawson Wright, 83, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015. She was born in Stokes County on January 14, 1932 to the late Georgia Harger Lawson and James Ed Lawson. Mrs. Wright was a faithful member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church where she managed and maintained the cemetery and served as treasurer for the church and cemetery. She was a member of the Francisco Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad Auxiliary and she was also the treasurer of Francisco Senior Citizens Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Joseph Wright; one sister, Myrtle Cardwell; and one brother, Eugene R. Lawson. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Wright of Lawsonville; two sons, Joseph Clayton Wright of Fancy Gap, VA and James Kennedy Wright and wife, Lisa of Westfield; two sisters, Patti Payne and Jeanette Lawson-Jackson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 17 at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Clarence Bowman and Joey Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 16 at the church.
