Barbara Tucker

Greensboro – Barbara Ann Combs Tucker, 78, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born on July 16, 1943, in Rockingham County to the late Johnny and Irene Southern Combs. Barbara worked at Sears, was an accomplished caterer and cake decorator, and was the President of the Northwest Guilford and Colfax PTA. She loved to spend her time reading, traveling with her husband and friends, and looking after her elders. Barbara was a proud member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Combs.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Martin Willard Tucker of the home; her son, Todd Tucker (Elise) of Peachtree City, GA; her daughter, Debbie Tucker Roberson (Mark) of Matthews, NC; her four grandchildren, Kaleigh Roberson, Michael Tucker, Tucker Roberson, and McKenzie Tucker; her sisters, Marie McMichael, and Peggy Hartman; her brother, Chris Combs (Sharon); several nieces and nephews; and her special caregivers, Tonya Payne, and Brenda Walkman.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Chuck Peters and Rev. Bruce Freeman officiating. Interment at Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smith Grove Baptist Church, 2707 Sandy Ridge Rd, Colfax, NC 27235.
