Mrs. Barbara Ann Beckerdite Stanfield, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 20, 1932 in Davidson County to Wade Andrew Hall Beckerdite and Nell Motsinger Beckerdite. Mrs. Stanfield was a member of Midway United Methodist Church where she was in the Ladies Caring Sunday School class, as well as the Nell Beckerdite Circle. Her son and daughter never knew a day that they weren't unconditionally loved by their mother. She leaves a legacy of love. She was also a proud grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Rose Beckerdite King, and Martha Wade Beckerdite McIntyre. Surviving is her loving husband of 52 years, William ""Bill"" Flagge Stanfield of the home; one son, William Flagge Stanfield, Jr. (Michele); one daughter, Andra Archer Stanfield Nifong (Derick) , all of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Kylie Elizabeth Nifong, her pride and joy; and two sisters, Mary Janet Beckerdite and Marjorie Carol Beckerdite Russell (Don), all of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at Midway United Methodist Church with Pastor John C. Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church one hour prior to the service.
