Barbara Marie Sterling Sapp

Barbara Marie Sterling Sapp, 84, died April 3, 2016. Barbara was born November 28, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Walter Stanley Sterling and Bertha Marie Christophersen Sterling. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Sapp and her son, Robert Douglas Sapp. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Marie Sapp. At the time of her death she was residing at Arbor Acres Retirement Community in Winston-Salem, NC. She was a graduate of Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to the birth of her children, she was employed as an assistant department manager at Lord and Taylor in New York City and at Woodward and Lothrop in Washington, DC, and as an employee of Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem, NC. She loved going to the beach and was at all times a very loving and caring wife, mother, and homemaker to her family. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Arbor Acres and to her special caregiver, Phyllis Walker. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday April 6, 2016 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Copley officiating.
