Barbara Leach Roggenkamp

Barbara Leach Roggenkamp, 91, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Barbara, known to her family as ""Bob,"" was born on December 19, 1924 to Wilson Hendrix Leach and Alice Loggins Leach in Forsyth County. Barbara was a graduate of Gray High School where she earned a place in the National Honor Society. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for as long as her health permitted and served as a volunteer in a number of capacities within the church and school. Barbara loved to work in her yard, raising beautiful flowers and plants. She and her husband, Fred enjoyed trips to the beach. More than anything, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Roggenkamp; brothers, Brady L. Leach (Dorothea Nell), Floyd M. Leach; sister, Dorothy L. ""Dot"" Pope (Harold); and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Sapp Roggenkamp. Surviving are her children, Bryan Lee Roggenkamp, David Allen Roggenkamp (Joan), and Susan Diane Roggenkamp; granddaughter, Jennifer R. Grubbs; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jacob Grubbs; sister, Mary Hilda Elliott (Bill); and sister-in-law, Charlotte Pope Leach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Saint John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Schoolcraft officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
