Barbara Powell

Barbara Powell, 80, of Winston-Salem died of natural causes at her home Monday, February 25, 2013. Barbara was born February 17, 1933 to William Lindsay Temples and Noma Beatrice Haneline Temples in Forsyth County. Barbara was a graduate of Walkertown High School. She was a quiet lady who loved flowers, reading novels and collecting beautiful dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son, Darrin Neil Powell; her loving sister, Loretta Lee ""Peanut"" Carter; niece, Robin Lynn Carter White and her husband Danny; as well as numerous cousins. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
