Barbara Jean Pike

Barbara Jean Pike ""The Matriarch"" and the world's biggest Dario fan has officially left the building. ""Mamaw"" passed away after an amazing birthday bash surrounded by family and friends and of course… lots of chocolate cake. Barbara was a jokester, lover of her Princess Aleigha, nanny and bag lady extraordinaire. Her infectious laugh and loving nature made everyone she met fall in love with her. She will be missed by many every day and the sun will lose a bit of its shine in her passing. She joined her parents James and Lois Pike in a wonderful reunion. Barbara is survived by her son; Charlie Norman of Raleigh, her daughter; Cindy McFarland (Eric) of King, her precious granddaughter, Aleigha McFarland, her partner in crime for 27 years, Roger Brewer, her brother; Keith Pike, her sister; Sharon Hayden, nieces; Angel Chhan, Morgan Hayden and Chloe Hayden, nephew; Jesse Hayden, great-niece; Syanne Chhan and great-nephew; Jalen Chhan. A service celebrating the life of Barbara will take place at 2:00 Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. Burial will follow in King Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening at the funeral home.
