Barbara Love Phelps

Mrs. Barbara Love ""Nanny"" Phelps passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 28, 1928 to Gilbert and Della Love in Stokes County. Barbara was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Joe Love. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Mills and devoted son-in-law Pete Mills of Winston-Salem, Karen Stinson and husband Brad of New Jersey; one son, Gerald Phelps of Carlboro; 4 Grandchildren, Edward Fine, Jr. and wife, Amy of Winston-Salem, Kris and B.J. Stinson of New York, Angela Pillow and husband Larry of Georgia; five great grandchildren, Emilie and Lauren Fine of Winston-Salem, Connor, Trevor, Abagail Pillow of Georgia. two brothers, Jimmy R. Love and his daughter Sharon of Winston-Salem, Johnny R. Love and wife Margaret and their son Robbie of East Bend; a sister-in-law, Gayle Love of Winston-Salem; also many friends and caregivers during her extended illness. A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Rennie Adcock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. The family would like to take the opportunity to express appreciation to all those who aided in her care during her declining health and through her last days. You will long be remembered by those who loved her dearly.
