Mrs. Barbara Joan Phillips Murray, 84, of Stovall, NC passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at her residence. Barbara was born in Coweta County, Georgia to the late Clyde Phillips and Rebecca Bridges Phillips on March 10, 1937. Barbara grew up in Newnan, GA before moving to Charlotte, NC. She then met and married Tom (Dad). They moved to Winston-Salem, NC living originally in Old Salem and later in the Southside of Winston-Salem. She dedicated her life to raising their three children. Mom's interests and hobbies were square dancing with Dad, until health conditions no longer allowed. Barbara also enjoyed music, playing bingo, and making everlasting memories with family gatherings on Sunday's. Mom was special to everyone and loved them unconditionally. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Murray Sr.; brothers, Clyde Phillips Jr., and Glen Phillips; sister, Pat Wingo. She is survived by her children, Theresa Warden, Thomas Murray Jr. (Sherry) and Todd Murray (Michelle); grandchildren, Shannon, Elyshia, Chasity, Seth, Ashley, Zachary, Harley, Thomileigh and Juniper; great grandchildren, Chip, Allana, Cayden, Skylar, London, Ariel, Iris Mae, Willow and Wells; and host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jay Bowers officiating.
