Barbara Elizabeth Michael

Barbara Elizabeth Chrysson Michael, 76, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday December 29, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Barbara was born on March 4, 1948, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Nick George Chrysson and Mary Elizabeth Sutherland Davis. 

Barbara graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1965 and then went to beauty school to study hairdressing. Barbara married Jack Dalton Michael, Jr. on April 7th, 1966, at Parkway Chapel in Winston-Salem, NC. When she saw his beautiful white thunderbird automobile with a red interior, Barbara knew Jack was the one. Through the years, Barbara spent time raising her two daughters, working in business accounting, and as a home health aide. Barbara retired from the WSFCS, where she worked as a teacher’s assistant at The Children’s Center in Winston-Salem. Barbara especially loved gardening, shopping, working around the house, and learning how to fix things herself. Barbara had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She faithfully supported her husband in his ministry as a pastor’s wife and missionary wife. 

Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack; her daughters Elisa (John) and Sarah Kim; her stepsister Anita; and her dog Missy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse Ministries.
