COLFAX-Barbara Allen Joyner, 73 a loving mother and grandmother passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at Wesley Long Community Hospital. She was born October 30, 1937 in Guilford Co. to the late Cleveland Clyde and Hannah Brookbank Allen. Mrs. Joyner was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Barbara loved to talk with her friends but most of all she adored her faithful companion Rudy her dachshund. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Joyner; seven brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Chris Currin and husband Ray, Kathi Torok and husband, Dan; her son, Allen Joyner and wife, Ann; six grandchildren, Joy Woodsmall, Michael Wyant, Andy Wyant, Jordan Torok, Tiffany Joyner and Tyler Joyner; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; mother-in-law, Virginia Joyner; and sister-in-law, Mary Allen. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Jack Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the funeral home and at other times at 4662 Saints Delight Church Rd. in Kernersville.
