Barbara Stutz Pope Jones

Ms. Barbara Ann Stutz Pope Jones,66, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Bermuda Commons Rehab and Nursing Center. Ms. Jones was born in Rich Square, NC on May 29, 1943 to Robert Edward and Lelia Whitehurst Stutz. She was a graduate of Rich Square High School. She was an antique lover, both collecting and dealing a variety of antiques. Ms. Jones enjoyed music, dancing, and baking, especially holiday treats for her favorite holiday, Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Roberta Futrell. She is survived by two sons, Brian Keith Pope and wife Michele of Gainesville, GA, and Brandon Kenneth Pope and wife Maria of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Lanie Pope Althoff and husband Brian; six grandchildren Hannah Nicole Pope, Brett Kendall Pope, Jackson Kenneth Pope, Rachel Gaines Pope, Kenan Alexander Althoff, and Heath Davis Althoff; a sister Jeanette Wade of Lasker; and her first husband Ralph Pope of Cary. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
