Barbara Hamlin Howell

Kernersville- Barbara Hamlin Howell, 66, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Barbara was born August 14, 1945 in Stokes County to Coley Bob and Mary Ellen Collins Hamlin. She was of Baptist Faith. Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Mary Jane Hamlin; and a brother, Curtis Lee Hamlin. Surviving are her husband, Jack Howell of the home; two daughters, Kathy Maji (Abderrahim) and Donna Walker (Jeff); three sons, Steve Howell (Lisa), William Howell (Bethany) and Billy Howell (Holly); 17 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Hamlin (Georgia) and Jesse Hamlin (Leslie); a sister, Judy Mabe (Boyd); and family member, Belinda Stutts. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. David Rorie officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
