Barbara Julene Hooker Holden

HOLDEN - WINSTON-SALEM Mrs. Barbara Julene Hooker Holden passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born February 26, 1929 in Surry County, NC to the late Etta Caudle Hooker and Spencer Hooker. She was a member of Winston-Salem First. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holden was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman ""Pete"" Holden; two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are four daughters, Frances Holden, Kathy Walker (Wendell), Janet Blalock Boger (Bobby), and Jill Tise Mace (Victor); five grandchildren, Mycheal Hubbard-Holden, Wendi Tackett (Billy), Matthew and Jessica Blalock, and Amanda Tise; two great-grandchildren, Tabatha Stevens (Jared) and Tasha Tackett; one great, great-granddaughter, Haylee Stevens; honorary daughter, Suzy Carter; honorary granddaughter, Kayla Carter; a special nephew, Leroy Schwaub of Germany; also numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 22 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Elwood Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
