Barbara Hemric

Mrs. Barbara “Bobbie” West Hemric, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 13, 1944, to the late Robert West and Gertrude Marlowe West. Bobbie was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School classes.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Bobbie enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Hemric and five siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ivan Hemric; daughter, Angie Cooke (Kelly); four grandchildren, Keith Bennett, Felicia Haithcock (Dustin Bloomdahl), Amber Casper (Chris); and Kyle Ashby; three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Audrey, and Eleanor; sister, Carolyn Sprinkle; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Tobaccoville, NC with Pastor Derrick Hinson officiating. Bobbie will lie-in-state Friday, October 28, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall, for those who would like to come by and pay their respects. The family will receive friends following the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church.
