Barbara Hartman Eldridge

Barbara Hartman Eldridge, 77, of Yadkinville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 5, 1935 in Forsyth County to Kearn Clark and Alma Steelman Hartman. Ms. Eldridge was a devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Hartman; and a son, Christopher Gray Pfaff. Surviving is one daughter, Cheryl Eldridge; two grandsons, Benjamin Adam Eldridge, and Christopher Laith Pfaff; a granddaughter, Sarah Shaffer; three brothers, Richard Hartman (Carolyn), Harold Hartman (Betty) and Bill Hartman (Charlotte). A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Van Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 408 N. Eugene St., Greensboro, NC 27401; or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. The family would like to express their thanks to the Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care Unit and the Yadkin Valley Home Health Care for their care and support.
