Barbara Kathryn Davenport

Barbara Kathryn Davenport died March 19, 2010 at Salemtowne where she has resided since August of 2008. Barbara was born in Marshall, NC in 1930. She attended Saint Mary's College and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1952 with a degree in Business. Winston- Salem has been her home since 1983 when she moved from Omaha, NE. with her husband Bill. She had been active in her local chapters of Pi Beta Phi, and PEO both women's groups she loved and believed in. She is survived by her husband, William ""Bill"" of Winston-Salem; daughter, Kathryn of Lexington; son and daughter-in-law, Griff and Nancy, and their three children, Ben and Kelly of Lakeville, MN., Andy and wife Maria of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by her sister, Beth Dickson of Bluffton, SC; and cousin, Nancy Reynolds of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Linda Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
