Barbara Griffin

Mrs. Barbara Ann Atwell Griffin, 85, passed away on July 12, 2021, at her home. She was born in Pensacola, FL on May 4, 1936, the daughter of the late Oscar Atwell, Sr. and Ethel Mae Scott Atwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Griffin; two brothers, Oscar Atwell, Jr. and George “Tiny” Atwell; and two sisters, Ethel “Sis” Butts and Florence Day. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Edward Griffin of the home; a daughter, Katy Taylor of Bossier City, LA; a son, Ricky Griffin of Rural Hall; two grandchildren, Stephen Taylor of Kansas City, MO and Nicholl Taylor of Destin, FL; two great grandchildren, Jayden and Bryce Moore; two special sisters-in-law, Tammie Jean Harper and Brenda Erlene Griffin Gilley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Trellis Supportive Care and would like to extend a special thank you to Crystal Volk for the care and compassion in taking care of Mrs. Griffin.  Graveside services will be conducted in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
