Mr. Azariah Gray ""A.G."" Carmichael, Sr. age 90 passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at his home in Rural Hall. Mr. Carmichael was born in Forsyth County, January 12, 1927 to the late Ernest Raymond Carmichael and the late Miriam Tate Carmichael. He was a member of Rural Hall Moravian Church in Rural Hall. A.G. retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with forty one years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II, a life member of the American Legion Post 290 of King and the V.F.W. He was a member of the Rural Hall Volunteer Fire Department, served as Fire Marshall for two years, and was an avid golfer. Mr. Carmichael is survived by his wife of 69 years, Juanita Ramsey Carmichael of the home. One daughter, Vickie Darlene Carmichael and Ira Mogitz of Hollywood, FL. One son, Mike (Linda) Carmichael of King. Two granddaughters; Ashley Carmichael and Katherine C. (Luke) Medlin. One grandson, Justin Carmichael. Three great-granddaughters; Sadie, Bailey, and Maggie Medlin. Three brothers; T.W. Carmichael of King, B.J. (Betty) Carmichael and Q.L. (Nancy) Carmichael both of Winston-Salem. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Carmichael will be conducted Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Rural Hall Moravian Church by Rev. Aaron Linville. Burial will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
