Avery "Wayne" Moore

Mr. Avery “Wayne” Moore, 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020.  Wayne was born in New Hanover County, NC on January 9, 1943, to the late Avery Amon Moore and Lillian Johnson Moore.  Wayne served in the Army National Guard and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 35 years of service.  Wayne was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors.  He especially enjoyed fishing at High Rock Lake.  In addition to his parents, Avery was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Dwayne Moore.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Ann New Moore; two daughters, Vickie Jayne Moore and Tiffany Jalayne Moore; two grandchildren, Brittany Marie Moore (Curry Smith) and Austin Tanner Moore (Ally Earnhardt); and three great-grandchildren, Brynlee Marie Harrold, Camdyn Curry Smith, and Laikyn Marie Moore.  A private graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Moore.
