Aurelia "Ann" Lawson

Aurelia "Ann" Lawson, of Winston-Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Ann was born in Forsyth County on July 9, 1941, the daughter of the late William Herman Lawson and Arlene Holland Lawson. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt. Ann was full of generosity and kindness to everyone she met. She graduated from Northwest High School and retired from Hanes Hosiery/Sara Lee with 40 years of service as a dedicated and loyal employee. Ann was a member of Winston-Salem First Assembly of God and loved the Lord. She lived her life by the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” After retirement she volunteered with Senior Services Meals-on-Wheels. She enjoyed bowling, exercising, reading and traveling. Ann traveled the country from East Coast to the West Coast, Alaska, Hawaii and several countries in Europe, Canada and the Caribbean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Herman Lawson, Jr. and a nephew, Mark Lawson. Ann is survived by two brothers, Roger Lawson and Bruce Lawson (Patricia); three sisters, Peggy Lawson, Sue Wilson and Faye Bovender. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Beth Bowman, Tammy Ball, Michael Keaton Terry Bowman, Joe Bowman, Kobi Josefsberg, Karen Ferguson (Chuck), Audra Ferguson, Austin Ferguson, Chris Lawson (Brandy), Chloe Lawson, Corey Lawson, Kim Lawson, Kelly Lawson, and a special great nephew, Joe Bowman who brought her much happiness. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
