Mr. Aulton Laverne Bostick, Sr., 80, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Bostick was born in Albemarle to Gana Franklin and Lena Harmon Bostick on December 17, 1929. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from R.J. Reynolds Archer, Inc. after 30 years of service. Mr. Bostick was a 32nd degree Mason and a Certified Lecturer as well as a member of the Salem Lodge #167. He was a simple man who will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Bostick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patty Stocks Bostick; a brother Gana Bostick, Jr.; and a sister, Frances Greene. He is survived by three daughters, Frankie Rhoades and husband Milton of Winston-Salem, Susan Howell and husband Jimmy of Winston-Salem, and Karen Hall and husband Freddie of Rock Hill, SC; two sons, Vern Bostick and wife Donna of Winston-Salem and Tim Bostick and wife Anna of High Point; a sister, Trelvan ""Skipper"" Henderson of Conway, SC; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Bill Teague officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
