Augustus Longworth Mitchell

MITCHELL - RURAL HALL Mr. Augustus Longworth Mitchell, 91, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County on April 23, 1921 to the late Lilly and Rober Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell proudly served in his country in the United States Navy. He was of the AME faith. Mr. Mitchell was a devoted grandfather who was outgoing and loved gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Neline Mitchell; and six siblings. Surviving are three sons: Raymond Leslie Mitchell Sr., Michael Jerome Mitchell and Perry Drake Mitchell; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Crestview Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Mitchell's devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Lisa Mitchell, for the exceptional care that was given.
