Auguste Marie Lane

Auguste Maria Schmitt Lane, 83, of King passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Auguste (Gusti) Lane was born on April 19, 1929 to Johann and Margarete (Maurer) Schmitt. Gusti was a girl Scout leader for many years of Troop 104 in Rochester, PA. She loved knitting, crocheting, and jewelry making. Auguste was born in Wuerzburg, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edwin (Bill) Lane; and daughter Donna Lee Lane. She is survived by a son John W. Lane (Carola), Box 326 Rural Hall, NC 27045; a daughter Shirley Lane Hultquist (Greg), of 353 Rum Creek Trail, Dublin, GA 31021; a brother Peter Schmitt of Wertheim, Germany; and sisters Marta Gebhardt of Streator, IL, Marianne Vargas of Waterford, CT, Heidi Petter of Tauberbishofsheim, Germany, and Helga Schmitt of Wuerzburg, Germany; grandchildren Nicole Lane Holt of King, NC, John E. and Tiffany Lane of Dobson, NC, Michael and Gloria Hultquist of Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and Erik and Emily Hultquist of Emmaus, PA; great grandchildren Reagan Holt, Beatrice Lane, and twins Victor and Conar Hultquist , and numerous nieces and nephews.
