Audrey Mize

Mrs. Audrey Pope Mize, 87, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022.  She was born May 21, 1935 in Iredell County to the late Robert Glenn Pope and May Bynum Pope.  Audrey was a graduate of Sherrills Ford High school and attended Mitchell Community College.

Audrey was a longtime member of Friedberg Moravian Church, where she sang in the choir, played trumpet in the Moravian Band, and thoroughly enjoyed participating in the church’s local missions.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, C.J. Mize; and two brothers, Michael Pope and Gene Pope.  Audrey is survived by her cousins: Pam Moorefield (Winston-Salem, NC), Beth Hine (Hickory, NC), Ashley Hine (Hickory, NC), Janice Goodman (Troutman, NC), Nancy Street (Claremont, NC), and Carl Smith, Jr. (Huntsville, UT) and many other loving family members.

A memorial service will be held at Friedberg Moravian Church located at 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC on Friday, December 23 at 2:00PM.  A brief graveside service will follow.

Family will receive friends prior to the memorial service in the church parlor from 1:00 – 1:45.
