Audrey Burge

Audrey Burge, formerly of Winston-Salem, beloved wife of the late Claude B. Burge, cherished mother of Steve Burge and Denise Burge, passed away in her sleep on April 4, 2012, at the age of 86. Daughter of the deceased S. Roscoe and Joyce (Mitchell) Holleman of Jonesville. Sister to the late William (Bill) Holleman, and Louise Holleman. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as a special aunt Mary Ellen Odom Burgess. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C, until her retirement in 1993. But she was also an artist, a humorist, and a mentor to those around her. She was a former member of Salem Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday April 6, from 6 -8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 7 at 11:00 am at the Hayworth-Miller chapel. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.
