Astrid Saylor

Mrs. Astrid Pauline Conrad Saylor, 83, of Winston-Salem, NC peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Clemmons Village. She was born to the late Clarence Odell Conrad and Pauline Branson Conrad in Forsyth County on May 2, 1939. Astrid was a true believer in God’s word and a faithful follower. She attended Clemmons First Baptist Church where she participated in the Sunday School Class and many church activities. She was an incredible painter and artist who could produce the most realistic pieces. Astrid had a deep love for reading and enjoyed being a part of her book club. She spent her life loving to travel and getting to spend the adventure of seeing the world with her late husband, John. Her family and especially her grandchildren will forever miss getting to eat her famous oatmeal. In addition to her parents Astrid is preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, John H. Saylor, Jr., and son, Cameron Monroe McDaniel. She is survived by her sweet daughter, Kimberly McDaniel; five grandchildren, Tamara Chamberlain (Allen), Courtney Sloan, Tyler McDaniel, Eli McDaniel, and Abby McDaniel; three great-grandchildren, Noah Haughwout, Jadyn Chamberlain, and Jacob Chamberlain; sister, Cynthia Trivett; daughter-in-law, Marie McDaniel; and Tyler’s Mom, Aunt Kim McDaniel. A private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
