KERNERSVILLE-Ashley Marie Rogers, 15, an intelligent young lady who was artistically and academically gifted, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010. She was born August 13, 1994 in Forsyth Co. to Todd and Christine Smith Rogers. Ashley was a student at Robert B. Glenn High School, where she was a member of the swim team, Anchor Club, and French Club. She had a love for art, dance, music, and her family. She had dreams of traveling to New York City, and Paris, France as well as many other areas of the world. Ashley would have made a significant impact in this world. She was destined for great things. Surviving are her parents, Todd and Christine of Kernersville; maternal grandmother, Barbara Bracken Smith of East Bend; paternal grandparents, Lee and Annette Rogers of Raleigh; five aunts, Celicia Goins and husband, Jr., Melissa Carr all of Booneville, Patrice Bowes of West Palm Beach, FL, Cynthia Butterweck of Brandon, Fl, and Julie Cossette and husband Steve of Stafford, VA; thirteen cousins, Daniel, Lauren, Joshua, Jessica, Jennifer, Erin, Nathan, Nicole, Corina, Jason, Connor, Kristen, and Sarah. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm April 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church, 401 Oakhurst St, Kernersville, with Dr. Stephen Martin and Pastor James Ward officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any Southern Community Bank branch, In Memory of Ashley Rogers Teen Crisis Fund.
