Arthur Wayne Tilley

Kernersville - Arthur Wayne Tilley passed away Friday June 5, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1924 in Durham County to the late Arthur L. and Clara Beane Lambeth Tilley. Arthur was a very sweet, caring, and fun loving man, who loved music and his guitar. He retired from Henness Frieght Lines and was a veteran. Mr. Tilley was preceded in death by his wife; Rachel G. Tilley. Surviving are several special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday June 8, 2009 at Gospel Light Baptist Church by Dr, Bobby Roberson. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday June 7, 2009 at Hayworth -Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to Walnut Ridge Assisted Living at 411 Windmill Street Walnut Cove, NC 27252, or to the Gospel Light Baptist Church Choir at 890 Walkertown-Guthrie Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27101. A special thanks to the staff at Forsyth Palliative Care Center, and to the staff at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Walnut Cove for taking such excellent care of Arthur during his stay.
