Mr. Arthur George ""A.G."" Belcher, 72, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 14, 2011 after a two year battle with cancer. He was born in Watauga Co. on July 20, 1938 to the late Louis Wesley Belcher and Hattie Mae Nichols Belcher. A.G. attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church and loved to ""Piddle"" and work in his yard. He worked for Roadway Trucking as a dispatcher and then worked for CarQuest Auto Parts.

A.G. is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rebecca Belcher of the home, a daughter, Laura Blankenship and husband David of Irvington, VA, two sons, Brad Barr of King and Brian Barr and wife Scarlett of King, eight grandchildren, Tyler, Braeden, Everett, David, Ashley, Christopher, David and Brandy, two sisters, Geri Marley and Jackie Angel both of King and a brother, Louis W. Belcher of King.

Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends directly following the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
