Arthur "Art" Daniel French

Mr. Arthur “Art” Daniel French, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.  Art was born in Bland, Virginia on October 23, 1937, to the late Frank and Bertha French.  Art enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, antique shopping, playing the piano, and spending time with his family.  He spent his career as a contractor in the home renovation industry.  In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his son, Arthur French; granddaughter, Shannon Dobbins; brother, James Haymaker French; and son-in-law, Kenneth Harrelson.  He is survived by his wife, Janie Sue Smith French; four children, Darrell French (Renea), Daniel French, Cynthia Harrelson, and Chrystina Vest (Rock); and nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  Art is also survived by two brothers-in-law, David Smith (Melissa) and Jackie Smith (Glenda); sister-in-law, Babe; nephew, Blake Smith; and niece, Shanny Smith.  A service to celebrate Art’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Way of The Cross Ministries, 651 Akron Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.  The family is accepting flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. French.
