STYERS Winston-SalemMr. Arnold Buxton Styers, Jr., 79, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at his home. He was born in Forsyth County to the late Arnold Buxton Styers, Sr. and Lillian Pegram Styers. Mr. Styers was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and later retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 31 ½ years of service. Mr. Styers loved riding motorcycles. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and his Honda Gold Wing. Mr. Styers was a member of the B-2 Chapter of the Honda Gold Wing Club. He was also an avid golfer. More importantly, he enjoyed spending time and getting together with his family. He also liked drinking coffee and having a biscuit with his friends on Saturday morning. Preceding him in death was a brother, Charlie Styers, grandson, Matthew Nations, and a nephew, Dennis Moore. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Ella Mae Simmons Styers; three daughters, Barbara Atwood (Dennis), Donna Smith (Jack), and Yvonne Nations (Alan); seven grandchildren, Molly Parks, Danielle Nations, Hannah Nations, Philip Nations, Caleb Nations, Matthew Smith, and Sarah Smith; great-granddaughter, Bailey Parks; brother, Billy Styers; three sisters, Nancy Styers Ayers (Bob), Martha McKenzie (Stafford), and Wanda Johnson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews and his special pet ""Amber."" A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 at Crestwood Baptist Church with Pastor David Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.The family would like to thank Pastor David Wood and their church family, hospice staff and nurses, Dr. Wrobleski, and Dr. Patricia Zekan for all their support.
