Arnold Lee Staley

WS-Arnold Lee Staley known to everyone as ""papa"", born March 12, 1923 to General H. and Sallie Staley. On Oct 20th 2010 our Lord and Savior called him home to join his late wife Jaunita B. Staley. Surviving family includes daughter, Patricia S. Folds; 3 granddaughters, Tammy L. Floyd, Sherry and Tommy Murray, Angela and Anthony Russo; 5 great grandchildren, Seth R. and Chastity N. Childress, Ashley N., Harley K. and Thomi Leigh Murray; 2 great-great grandchildren, Skyler N. O'dell and Alexandra L. Childress; sister, Cleoma ""Tommie"" Jarvis Montgomery; nephew, Anthony ""Tony"" and Terri Jarvis; and great nephew, James Jarvis. Also leaving behind, a devoted friend and companion, Clair Lewis and her family. After an honorable discharge from the US Army, Arnold L. Staley spent 25 years as a Millwright at RGR Archer Division in Winston Salem, retiring in June of 1980. Papa was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his grand, great grand, and great- great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family at Hayworth Miller on Silas Creek Parkway, Sunday Oct 24, 2010 at 6pm, with service to follow at 7:30 pm with Pastor Mike Gates and Pastor Albert Smith officiating. A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park of Winston Salem at 11 am on Monday Oct 25, 2010. A special thanks to the doctors and ICU staff at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center involved in the care of Papa. The family would also like to extend thanks to Dee Dee Bodenheimer and Joe Brewer for their efforts.
