WINSTON-SALEM - Arnold Garland Brown, 88, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at his home. He was born September 26, 1921 in Forsyth County to Earlie Elmer and Letha Dezern Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Myers Brown; three brothers; and one sister. Surviving is one daughter, Hilda Brown Moore and husband Bobby of Kernersville; one son, Arnold ""Skeeter"" Brown and wife Delores of Winston-Salem; one sister, Dorothy Clemmons of Winston-Salem; one brother, Norman Brown of Denton; 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Richard Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
