Arline Kreuzberger Hodges

Arline Josephine Kreuzberger Hodges, of Bermuda Run, NC passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Vienna Village where she had resided over the past two months. She was born September 28, 1924 to Ulysses and Gertrude Kopp Kreuzberger in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Her father worked for General Motors and her mother was a homemaker and a talented seamstress. During her childhood she lived in Arkansas, Ohio and Michigan in addition to West Virginia. Arline graduated high school in Saginaw, MI in 1942 and then worked as a secretary until she married. She was married to Walter Paul Hodges for 30 years, having two sons and living in Texas, Oklahoma and Bradford and Oil City, Pennsylvania. After the boys became adults she moved to Pinehurst, NC and then to Bermuda Run, NC where she had lived for over 35 years. Arline was a homemaker and a loving mother, devoted grandmother and avid golfer. In her later years she and her close friends traveled to Canada, England, and Scotland. She was always ready to host a family gathering and prepare the family's traditional favorite recipes during the holidays. In addition to her parents and husband, Arline was preceded in death by her sister Mildred Kreuzberger Campbell. She is survived by son Jeffery Hodges and wife Carolyn of Foster City, California; son David Steven Hodges and wife Mary Beth of Winston-Salem, NC; grandson David Andrew Hodges and wife Kathryn of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; grandson Stephen Hodges of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hodges of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Stephanie Hodges of Winston-Salem, NC; two great grandchildren, AnnaSophia and Thomas Hodges of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; her brother Eugene Kreuzberger and wife Kathleen; niece Alicia Kreuzberger Pepper; nephew Thomas Kreuzberger and wife Anna; and great nephews Austin, Garrett and Cole all from the Philadelphia area.
