Mr. Arlie Rash, 94, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Wilkes County, NC on January 2, 1921 to the late Wesley and Mae Harris Rash. Mr. Rash was a former member of Goldfloss Baptist Church where he continued to serve as a Trustee. He was a faithful member of Grapevine Baptist Church. He was a faithful man to the Lord, always reading his bible, and encouraging others. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, playing his guitar, and telling jokes and stories. Preceding him in death was a son, Samuel Rash. Surviving is his wife, Lillian York Rash; three daughters, Mary Jane Hayes and husband, Johnny of King, Betty Ruth Whitt and husband, Charles of King, and Jennifer Gough and husband, Homer of Lewisville; daughter-in-law, Linda Rash of Walkertown; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Ruby Jean Ingold and Annie Mae Frazier. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Grapevine Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Comer and Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Grapevine Baptist Church, 7795 Grapevine Rd., Lewisville, NC 27023.
