Arlene Dunn

Mrs. Arlene Joyce Eads Dunn, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday May 1, 2022.

Arlene was a lifelong member of Harvest Baptist Church, spending many years as a devoted Christian and serving the Lord.

She enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles, watching The Little House on the Prairie, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She also loved her pets, especially her beloved cat Socks. Socks was her pride and joy, and also her protector and guardian.

If you knew Arlene, you knew she was very loving but also quick to tell a joke and pull a prank. Some even say she was both “sweet and spicy.” Most of all, Arlene loved life.

Arlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles Dunn; her sisters, Lorene Blanton and Irene Kimel; and her brother, Delano Eads.

Her surviving family members include her son, Charles “Chuck” (Rhonda) Dunn, III; daughter, Yvonne (Donalds) Poole; grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, Tara, Charles, and Megan; great-grandchildren, Logan, MaKayla, Carson, Emma, Ally, Paisley, Harper, Emery, Chad Jr., Caleb, and Shepherd, and several other special nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Dunn family would like to give a special thanks to Arlene’s caregivers at Universal Health Care in King, NC, Reda and Wanda, for their love and support throughout Arlene’s illness.

A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel Thursday May 5, 2022, at 2:00PM with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
