Aristides "Harry" Elefantis

Mr. Aristides “Harry” George Elefantis, 87, passed away December 6, 2021, at home. He was born in Kalesmeno, Greece, the son of George and Fotini Elefantis. Harry came to the United States at the age of sixteen and moved to New Bern with his uncle to support his family back in Greece.  He graduated from New Bern High School and at age 28 returned to Greece to marry the love of his life Irene Samaras. They then would move to Charlotte and then to Winston-Salem to start a family. Harry was a hard-working man, who worked hard in the restaurant business. He was devoted to his family and was an active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where he served for many years on the parish council. Harry Loved America and enjoyed discussing the issues of the day. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Irene Samaras Elefantis and a sister Eleni in Greece. Survivors include his three children, Fotini Branon (Mark) of Winston-Salem, Argyro “Angie” Raptis (Dino) of Winston-Salem and George Elefantis (Christina) of Winston Salem; seven grandchildren, Eleftheria (Theodore), Stavros, George, Aristides, Katerina, Erini and Aristides “Ari;” three great grandchildren, Anastasi, Vance, and Lydia; a sister, Vasiliki Tsoutsikas (Fotis) of Lamia, Greece and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nick, and Efrosini Samaras.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Anton Frunza and Rev. Fr. Sarantis Loulakis officiating. A trisagion service will be held at 10:50 AM. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or to Mt.
