Archibald Roger Brown

KERNERSVILLE - Archibald ""Archie"" Roger Brown, 85, passed away December 27, 2014. He was born in New York City to the late Archibald Riley Brown and Marguerite Frances Rogers Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Archie served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He worked for 19 years at Western Electric, and retired after 25 years at Beroth Oil Co. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, and spending time at the coast. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be sorely missed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Linda B. Brown; two daughters, Teresa Brown and Sheila Brown Stone and husband Jay; three grandchildren, John Riley, Morgan and Connor Stone; a sister in law, Bonnie Idol and husband Warren; a niece Kristi Harkrader and nephew, Michael Idol.

A service will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Harlow and Rev. Harry Sammons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church 2165 Pisgah Church Rd. Kernersville, NC 27284.

Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Brown family.
