A.P. Snook Thomas

Mr. A.P. ""Snook"" Thomas, 74, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at his home. He was born October 9, 1933 in Forsyth County to the late B.E. and Sarah Blanche Thomas. Mr. Thomas graduated from Griffith High School and later retired from Southern Bell with 30 years of service. He was a member of Griffith Baptist Church. Mr. Thomas was an avid model train enthusiast and had a passion for cars, especially his 1963 Buick Riviera and 1978 Chevrolet El Camino. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend. Preceding him in death was a brother, Hughey E. Thomas. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, JoAnn Thomas; brother, John B. Thomas and wife Peggy; nephew, Jonathan M. Thomas and wife Kennette L.; niece, Sarah Thomas Keane and husband Sean and a special cousin, Betsy Nading. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Tony Brown and Pastor David Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Bayada Nurses and to Dr. Ted Nifong for the special care they provided to Mr. Thomas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607.
