Walkertown – Mr. Anthony “Tony” Dean Traxler, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at home. He was born on June 18, 1968, to Dale and Brenda Traxler. He was born in Barberton, Ohio, but grew up in Canal Fulton, Ohio. He attended St. Philip and James School and graduated from Northwest High School and moved to North Carolina in 1987. He was an Independent Contractor at Happy Tails Puppies in Oak Ridge. Tony was a member of Kerwin Baptist Church. He loved to wrestle and play sports and he loved animals, especially his dog, Cotton. He was an avid old car enthusiast and enjoyed 80’s music, especially Billy Idol. Tony will be sorely missed, and we will cherish his memory forever. Anyone who knew Tony, knows how he never knew a stranger, loved to laugh, and loved his family. There was and will always only be one Tony Traxler.
Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Kenneth Traxler; sister, Mashal Denise Traxler; and his grandparents, Jack and Mary Jane Fowler.
He is survived by his daughter, McKayla Traxler; parents, Brenda and Dale Traxler; two brothers, Dale Edward Traxler III (wife, Kathleen) and Todd Norman Traxler (wife, Shelley); one sister, Colleen Nicole King (husband, Kevin); many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service for Tony will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Kerwin Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Hawtree officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. There will be a private family burial following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kerwin Baptist Church at 4520 Old Hollow Road, Walkertown, NC 27051. The family would like to express special thanks to Tony’s uncle Ken and our extended family. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
