Anthony Nichols Hubbard

Winston Salem - Anthony Nichols Hubbard, 69, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at his home. He was born February 12, 1943 in Forsyth Co. to the late Roby and Arizona Hodge Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 35 years of service; was a Firefighter, Chief, and served on the board of directors for City View Volunteer Fire Department for 56 years and Forsyth Co. Fireman of the year. He also served as Special Deputy Sheriff of Forsyth Co. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Roby Hubbard and a sister, Denna Carter. Surviving are his wife, Frances Mabes Hubbard of the home; his son, Tony Hubbard and wife, Karen of Kernersville; grandson, Chase Hubbard; one brother, Allen Hubbard of Kernersville; four sisters, Lucille Carter of Winston Salem, Elizabeth Butler of Watauga, TX, Orabelle Holden of Kernersville, and Mary Price of King; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 27, 2012 at First Christian Church in Kernersville with Rev. Wallace Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at First Christian Church in Kernersville.
