Annie Laurie Priddy Nelson

Mrs. Annie Laurie Priddy Nelson, 92, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at her residence. She was born October 22, 1921 in Stokes County to Sarah Ann Brown and Jewell Grant Priddy. Mrs. Nelson was the heart of her family and her favorite times in life was spent with her family. To know Mrs. Nelson was to love her. She was proud of who she was and where she came from. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Nelson; three sisters, two brothers, two infant brothers, and her great great granddaughter, Emma Leigh Dawson. She is survived by three children, Catherine Gibson and husband James, Yvonne N. Pierce, Lloyd ""Ken"" Nelson and wife Beverly Paige; eight grandchildren, Scott Posey, Elesha Pettitt, Scarlet Murray, Greg Posey, Shannon Pierce Brewer, Christopher Kenneth Nelson Tesh, Jennifer Lynn Nelson Green, Ashton Hunter Nelson; ten great grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; eight great great grandchildren; two step-great great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean Priddy. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 10 at the funeral home.
