Annie Lee Frye Eddinger, 91, of Winston-Salem, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 20. She was born on April 16, 1926 to Claude Allen and Sophie Freeman Frye. She was a graduate of Griffith High School, where she starred as a varsity basketball player. On August 10, 1946, she married Jack Eddinger. They had been married 66 years at the time of his death in 2013. She was retired from Western Electric Co. In her retirement, she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and gardening. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Frye; and sister, Ella Worley. She is survived by her daughters Sheila (Jim) Little, Sherri (Jeff) Smith; grandchildren Heath (Neva) Little, Joshua Little, Jacob Eddinger-Smith, Annie E. (Josh) Frank; great-grandchildren Jack, Evan, Kimball, James and Ella Little; and Sophie, Lola and Jack Frank; sisters Alta Mabe and Odessa Rhoades, and brother, Bucky Frye; brother-in-law, Jim Eddinger; sisters-in-law Ann Lambeth, Betty Eddinger and Sylvia Eddinger; as well as many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Annie was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a charter and still-active member of Griffith Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Griffith Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Vaughan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griffith Baptist Church, 1987 Old Salisbury Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
