Annie Louise Whitener Boyd

KERNERSVILLE-Annie Louise Whitener Boyd, 89, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, May 27, 2010. She was born July 11, 1920 in Wake Co. to the late Franklin William and Ruth Victoria Thornburg Whitener. Annie was a member of Refuge Baptist Church in Walnut Cove. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo; two sisters, Irene Myers and Katherine; and one brother, Paul Whitener. Surviving are her daughter, Marie Carter of Stokesdale; three sons, Jerry Boyd of Kernersville, Larry Boyd of Winston Salem; Roger Boyd of King; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Parrish of Winston Salem; and a brother, Ray Whitener of Kernersville. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Jerry Nelson and Rev. John Paul Swanson officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston Salem. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Monday, May 31, 2010 at the funeral home.
