Annie Lee Sprinkle Boone

Mrs. Annie Lee Sprinkle Boone, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Winston-Salem Nursing and Rehab. She was born April 12, 1925 in Surry County to the late James Hampton and Minnie Hines Sprinkle. Mrs. Boone was raised in the Methodist Children's Home as a child. After finishing high school she went on to work for several years as a medical records librarian for Forsyth Medical Center. She was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church where she played the piano for several years. Mrs. Boone loved music and was always playing the piano for a church or for a special gathering. Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph Lee Boone, Sr. and two brothers, James and Porter Sprinkle. Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Cooke (Harold) of Winston-Salem; son, Joe Boone, Jr. (Janice) of Clemmons; 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Lewisville United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Bingham officiating. The burial will follow in the Ash Garden at the church cemetery. Memorials in her memory may be made to Lewisville United Methodist Church, 6290 Shallowford Road Lewisville, NC 27023 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
